On September 29, 2017, the press conference of the “KungFu World Cup” was held in Paris.

The 2017 KungFu World Cup (France) will be held at Marcel Cerdan Palace of Sports,Levallois-Perret, Paris on Nov 25, 2017.

Guests who attended this conference include Denis Masseglia, the President of French National Olympic Committee；Xiaohong Liu, the President of Chinese Federation de Savate (Chinese Federation of Savate) ； and Jiang Zhu, the CEO of Beijing BKS Media Technology Inc., among many others. In addition to the above attendees, representatives from Paris branch of the Xinhua News Agency, L'Équipe, and many other media agencies were also present.

The ongoing tournament which will be hosted in Paris will be divided into four weight-class categories in total, the 60, 70, 85, and 95 kg and above. Matches will progress by the single-elimination system, and the champions of each weight-classes will be awarded with a golden belt in addition to a € 30,000 prize money. China will also be selecting their athletes to participate, which roster will be determined according to the athletes performance from the twelve tours so far. In the conference, the match-ups results for this tournament have been determined through drawing.

Savate is also better known as the French's "National Martial Arts". According to the introduction given by Joël Dhumez, the president of the French Savate Federation, by 2016-17, the registered members have exceeded 56,000 athletes. In the conference, Mr. Dhumez has also awarded a medal to each of the ten clubs who have contributed significantly towards the development of the sport.

With France being selected as the hosting nation for the 2024 Olympics, the inclusion of Savate has also become more certain with each passing day. This excitement in anticipation was also shared by Mr. Masseglia, the President of French National Olympic and Sports Committee, who had also attended the conference.

As mentioned by Xiaohong Liu, the President of Federation Internationale de Savate, following the conclusion of the French station tour, the Chinese-station will be arranged. The projected Savate Combat World Championship shall see a part of its matches being held in Hangzhou by December 16th.
